We round up all the latest Tour gear news from the start of this year...

Tour Gear Round Up: January Transfer Window 2020

The January transfer window is a huge deal in the football world and it's also quite big in golf too.

Many of the deals players sign start and end at the start of each calendar year so there's always lots of movement around this time of year.

So far this month, we've seen big moves from Englishmen Matt Wallace and Eddie Pepperell, plus Sergio Garcia has also entered the world of free agents.

Brooks Koepka

The World No.1's bag was pictured with a Callaway Mavrik headcover in earlier this week by the Equipment Junkie on Instagram.

He appears to have been testing the Mavrik but was also spotted testing the new Mizuno ST200 earlier in the year too.

However, having seen images of him in practice for the Saudi International, he has gone back to the M5 driver he was using last year, having used the TaylorMade SIM in Abu Dhabi.

Koepka has also changed putter to a Scotty Cameron Teryllium blade in silver, as oppose to the black ones that recently came to market.

He has a SuperStroke grip fitted on it.

We'll know more when the Saudi International gets underway on Thursday as to what clubs the free agent is putting into competition play.

Paul Casey

The Englishman showed off his new set of Mizuno MP-5 irons.

Casey has had them in the bag after Nike stopped making clubs in August 2016.

Guido Migliozzi

As we assumed earlier in the month, two-time European Tour winner Guido Migliozzi has signed with Callaway.

Oli Fisher

As we also reported earlier this month, Oli Fisher has also signed with Callaway.

Adrian Otaegui

The two-time European Tour winner has signed an equipment deal with Callaway and an apparel deal with the Callaway-owned Travis Matthew.

Justin Thomas

The 2017 USPGA Championship winner has put in some special Titleist Vokey SM8 wedges this week paying tribute to Kobe Bryant and his daughter who tragically died in a helicopter accident.

Keegan Bradley

The American, who won the 2011 USPGA Championship, put in a draw-bias driver last week at the Farmers Insurance Open.

Normally thought of as higher-handicap clubs used by players fighting a slice, draw bias drivers may now be more popular with the better player after Bradley's switch.

He put in the new TaylorMade SIM Max D driver at Torrey Pines - note: above image of him using the M5 driver is from earlier in the month at the Sony Open.

Charley Hoffman

The American is wearing these custom FootJoy Pro/SL shoes this week at the Waste Management Phoenix Open.

Torrey Pines and Dubai Desert Classic -

Justin Rose

The Englishman plays at Torrey Pines this week and we've spotted him using a Cobra Speedzone Tour fairway wood.

Rose, who also signed with Axis putters recently, previously used TaylorMade fairways.

The Englishman has the new Honma TR20 driver in the bag as well as Honma's TR20B prototype blades.

His wedges are Honma Rose Protos + a Titleist lob wedge.

He is still using the TaylorMade TP5 ball.

Tiger Woods

The 15-time Major winner has put the new TaylorMade SIM driver into play at Torrey Pines this week.

Yeah, I was [pleased with the new driver]. I felt like the start lines were a little bit tighter, which was nice," he said.

"Felt like I shaped the ball well off the tees. I didn't quite get as many fairways as I needed to today, but overall all my misses were in good spots."

Woods has also put a new ball into play this week in the form of the new Bridgestone Tour B XS.

"I felt like I picked up maybe probably a quarter of a club in my irons, which was nice, without sacrificing any spin around the greens," he said.

"I think it's a little bit better in the wind, into the wind. I don't feel like I have to flight the ball as much as I did with my other ball, I don't have to lean on it as much, so technology certainly helps."

Rory McIlroy

TaylorMade's Ryan Lauder posted this image of McIlroy's bag on social media this week:

McIlroy has the new SIM products in the bag and he is using a hybrid for the first time in his professional career, we believe.

“I’ve never been a hybrid or a rescue guy, ” McIlroy told the Irish Golfer.

“I’m a bit of a traditionalist… but I picked this thing up and it was unbelievable.

"It’s like a 3-iron that’s as easy to hit as a 7-iron."

More Callaway signings - Alexander Bjork and Jorge Campillo

Having signed Matt Wallace and Oli Fisher last week, Callaway has signed Alexander Bjork, Jorge Campillo and Anne van Dam.

Sweden's Alexander Bjork has joined, here is his current setup:

Haotong Li

Formerly a TaylorMade staffer, we've spotted the Chinese star using Titleist T100 irons as well as Titleist wedges this week in Dubai.

He still has TaylorMade woods.

Another interesting move is that he appears to have left adidas as he is now wearing Descente apparel and the new FootJoy Tour X BOA shoe.

He is wearing a FJ glove and playing the Titleist Pro V1 ball.

Callaway success in Dubai -

Callaway was no.1 in Driver usage in Dubai with over a third of the field using a Callaway driver (34.8%). 27 players have the Mavrik in the bag.

- No.1 in Drivers - No.1 in Fairway - No.1 in Utility irons - No.1 in Irons - No.1 in Putters (more than every other brand combined)

Charl Schwartzel

The 2011 Masters champion has signed with Clear Golf to use the company's ball.

“I’m truly excited to be playing the Clear ball this season,” said the 24-time pro winner.

“The ball is extremely precise and performs beyond expectations. I feel a remarkable competitive advantage with the Clear ball. I’m thrilled to be joining the Clear team and look forward to many successful years playing Clear.”

Previously a PXG player, Schwartzel, as far as we can see, is using a TaylorMade M5 driver, a Honma long iron and Muira irons.

Henrik Stenson

The 2016 Open champion has signed a multi-year agreement with Danish shoe brand Ecco and will wear their 'hybrid' shoes.

“I’m delighted to be joining forces with Ecco Golf,” said Stenson.

“They are a brand I have long admired due to their passion for innovation, quality and style.

“I can look back at my career to date with a lot of pride at the things that I have achieved, and I have no doubt that there are plenty more highlights to come wearing Ecco Golf shoes.

“I have never worn hybrid shoes to compete before but as soon as I tried the Ecco models, I was amazed by both the comfort and traction they provided. I honestly can’t see myself wearing cleats again.”

Sergio Garcia

The Spaniard has left Callaway after two years and is now a free agent.

Garcia was using a Ping G410 driver as well as TaylorMade SIM fairway woods, Ping Blueprint irons, Ping Glide 3.0 wedges and a Ping Anser putter in Abu Dhabi.

He now appears to be using a TaylorMade SIM driver, as seen in this video below via the Equipment Junkie:

We're unsure of his ball at the moment but he was using a Titleist Pro V1 in his KLM Open victory in September.

“Unfortunately our relationship with Callaway didn’t go any farther,” he said.

Matt Wallace

Wallace has signed with Callaway, having previously been a Ping staffer.

The Englishman has 14 Callaway clubs in the bag and a Titleist ball.

“I’ve been a Callaway fan since I was young, so it’s a thrill and an honour to become a member of the Callaway Tour Staff,” Wallace said.

TaylorMade in Abu Dhabi

It has been a great start to life on the European Tour for the new TaylorMade SIM, as it was the #1 driver model chosen by non-contracted players in Abu Dhabi.

Of 33 players without driver contracts, 20 of them used TaylorMade drivers.

The nearest competitor had six.

Eddie Pepperell

The two-time European Tour winner was a Mizuno staffer last year but he has moved to Ping for 2020.

Pepperell is using a full bag of Ping clubs featuring the G410 Plus driver (9°), G410 5-wood (17.5° at 16°), i210 irons (3-PW), Glide Forged wedges (52°, 56°, 60°) and a Custom PLD PrimeTyne putter.

Oli Fisher

'Mr 59' Oli Fisher has left Mizuno to join Callaway.

He has also also signed with Lacoste having previously worn Nike apparel.

Andrew 'Beef' Johnston

Previously with FootJoy, Beef has signed with Puma.

Puma owns Cobra but we haven't heard if he's signed with them as well - he will be using Titleist clubs again this year, we assume.

Kevin Tway

The American has signed with Wilson Staff.

He is using Wilson's C300 Forged and V6 irons as well as Staff Model wedges.

Patrick Reed

The American has signed with Grindworks for 2020, a Japanese company that has made him some very cool forged irons.

The deal is just for the irons, we believe, and he is also using a Grindworks staff bag.

Guido Migliozzi

The two-time European Tour winner has signed an apparel and footwear deal with adidas and also appears to have joined Callaway from TaylorMade.

We've heard no official announcement from Callaway or TaylorMade...although he is wearing a Callaway 'Mavrik' cap in his social media post.

Chez Reavie

The American has left TaylorMade and joined PXG.

He's using 14 PXG clubs including the new 0811X prototype driver.

The company also signed Joel Dahmen, Jason Kokrak and Haley Moore.
