Galvin Green launches free App

Clothing manufacturer Galvin Green is introducing a free app this month to give golfers the story behind its 2014 high-performance Spring/Summer Collection.

The app - free to download on all iPhones, iPads and Android devices and a first in the golf apparel section - includes a video filmed in a wind tunnel, a store locator and a news platform.

The new release, which forms part of Galvin Green's Gear Up campaign, also explains the brand's Multi-layer concept by showcase key performance features.

These include Shell, Warm, Cool and Base layers that are specially designed to complement one and other and defy even the most challenging conditions.

Golfers can look in more detail at every garment and accessory within the four layers by following links to the men's and ladies' collections on the Galvin Green website.

Another feature is a Gear Up camera which becomes interactive once a mobile or tablet appears over an icon in a Lookbook available at stockists or on in-store display units.

Garments in the 36-page Lookbook come alive on touch-screen devices, with graphic examples of the latest garments in the Multi-layer range.

Both the filming and photography for the app took place at Galvin Green's Aeronautical Research Institute in Stockholm, where garments were subjected to vigorous testing.

"With every new collection we strive for perfection and the App - the first of its kind in golf apparel - gives golfers a detailed insight into the 2014 range," said UK Managing Director Mike Johnson-Hill.

"It allows serious golfers to delve further into the benefits of wearing layers of Galvin Green clothing, particularly in the most extreme playing conditions."

To access the new Galvin Green App, golfers should:

Go to the Galvin Green App download page and select the relevant option for your device.

When you're in store, then choose the Gear Up option and point your device towards images in the Lookbook showing the Gear Up icon.

There's also a Gear Up demo video and golfers can go straight to the Galvin Green website, at any time, by clicking the brand logo at the top of the screen.
