The Quick List
A shoe I've been raging about all year and for good reason, the Drive Pro Clone shoes from Under Armour are one of, if not the best shoes I've ever tested thanks to the comfort, looks and performance they provide.
The Quantum’s marketing promises “Cloud Like Comfort,” and throughout our testing, the shoe provided an immense amount of cushioning that truly lived up to the hype.
The combination of a perfect fit, excellent breathability, luxurious materials, and high levels of performance has resulted in a spikeless golf shoe that is a no-brainer choice for our top pick. Ecco excel when it comes to comfort and the C5 is the perfect example of this.
Payntr are arguably the most exciting newcomers to the golf shoe market and their Tour Classic RS are the latest of their impressive collection, delivering great comfort in a slick low profile aesthetic.
If you're after pure style with your shoes (without sacrificing too much performance), look no further than the FJ Premiere Series. It backs up the looks with on-course performance, giving you all the grip and stability you need.
The 997 SL delivers a comfortable walking experience highlighted by plush padding around the heel and ankle that ensures a securely locked-in feel without any initial rubbing - and looks absolutely superb on and off the course.

G/FORE has delivered yet another impressive shoe that combines a flawless fit with lasting comfort and exceptional traction - a strong contender for those who prioritize stability and feel over a slim silhouette.
Golfers like myself with flat feet need a good pair of golf shoes to provide adequate support to prevent pain whilst walking - none do that better than the Go Golf Blade Slip In shoes in 2026.
The laid-back, casual look is paired with exceptional comfort, making them as enjoyable to wear as they are to look at. They also prove extremely grippy for a spikeless shoe.

Under Armor’s new Drive Pro Clone seeks to improve on the original Drive Pro by refining the shoe’s appearance and performance with the additions of some new innovative materials.
A standout feature is the proprietary auxetic fabric upper, which mimics the appearance of leather for a classic aesthetic while providing a modern, custom fit that moves dynamically with your foot. This material eliminates common issues like rubbing or pinching, offering a comfortable yet secure lockdown during the swing. While the full waterproofing makes it a reliable choice for wet weather, it does limit breathability, which is a consideration for those playing in extreme heat.
The shoe also utilizes the proven Swing Support System and a formidable nine-spike outsole, combining S3 and Tour Flex Pro spikes to deliver industry-leading traction. Although the focus on stability means it isn't the plushest shoe available, it still offers a noticeable step up in comfort compared to the original Drive Pro.

Our top pick from the plentiful options in the spikeless golf shoe market is the Quantum which, in testing, backed up the claims of having 'Cloud Like Comfort'! It sure does. FootJoy has crammed the shoe with cushioning and over several rounds walking the course, we never experienced any aches and pains.
The SofFoam technology used in and around the heel provides an unbelievably cushioned ride. What's more, the Quantum features an Ortholite Impression FitBed, which really enhances the comfort on offer as it moulds over time to the shape of the foot to create a 'customized' fit.
The Quantum sits in the middle ground between a traditional performance golf shoe and a contemporary sneaker, resulting in a look that is polished and understated. While it may not be the type of footwear that draws frequent compliments, that simplicity is exactly the point. This is a shoe that chooses substance over flash, delivering an industry-leading level of comfort that few other models can compete with.

The Biom C5 is the highly anticipated successor to the popular Biom C4, a shoe we loved for many years - therefore, we had high hopes taking the C5 out for testing. Our findings were exceptional blend of comfort and performance, striking a perfect balance between a soft walking feel and the lateral firmness required for stability during the swing. The C5 feels even more locked-in at the heel than its predecessor, providing users with the confidence to swing aggressively while feeling fully supported.
Looks-wise, the premium athletic aesthetic remains and has a few new modern refinements like the 'exhaust grid scoops' in the midsole, which work alongside Gore-Tex Surround technology to offer breathability while remaining fully waterproof. The durable ECCO Performance Leather and a soft, sock-like ankle collar ensures the shoe feels luxurious as you walk and gives you a product that is worth the high-end price tag.
Although the traction is reliable in most conditions, it didn't quite offer the "class-leading" grip found on some rival models from Adidas or FootJoy. Nevertheless, we can't think of many better long-term investment for golfers who prioritize high levels of comfort, durability and performance on the course.

Combining premium feel with exceptional comfort, I find it very hard to fault the Payntr Reserve Classic Tour RS. It features a Clarino Trivela microfiber upper that is soft to the touch, reasonably breathable, and fully waterproof. Underfoot, Payntr have utilized a PMX Foam midsole that provides a soft, fatigue-reducing ride between shots while remaining firm enough to properly support your feet during the golf swing.
In terms of traction, this might be the best shoe in this guide thanks to the seven-spike TPU outsole that offers superb grip and keeps you feeling remarkably close to the ground. Additionally, by swapping the expensive carbon-fiber plate found in Payntr’s flagship Eighty Seven SC model for a specialized PMX Speed Plate, the Reserve Classic Tour RS delivers excellent energy return and high-end materials at a more accessible price point without sacrificing any comfort or support. Consider us very, very impressed by a Payntr golf shoe, yet again.

The FootJoy Packard beautifully marries luxury with tour-level performance, making it the premier choice for lovers of classic golf style. The mouth-watering design delivers a premium leather construction highlighted by a bison-textured nubuck center panel and elegant toe accents for an incredibly polished, high-end look.
On-course stability is rock-solid and trusted by the likes of Cameron Young on tour, intentionally trading a pillowy running-shoe feel for a firmer, more supportive traditional base that secures your foot through every swing while keeping you comfortable over miles of walking. All-weather grip is handled by an advanced multi-directional outsole that delivers the very reliable traction required to navigate wet grass and uneven slopes with ease, cementing this model as the absolute gold standard for traditional, brogue-style footwear and easily our favorite shoe of 2026 in terms of looks. I mean, look at them!

It is a common misconception that choosing one of the best golf sneakers means sacrificing on-course performance. The New Balance 997 SL if further proof that this isn't the case by utilizing an Ndurance rubber outsole with strategically placed nubs, delivering impressive traction and rock-solid stability throughout your swing.
I was impressed by the 997 SL, with the padding around the ankle and the heel keeping me locked in whilst walking the course and taking my shots. We didn't experience any rubbing or blisters during testing either, which was pleasing. If these shoes weren't appealing enough already, the $100 price point might make them even more desirable. However, we'd recommend ordering a half-size larger than your standard fit as the proved a little tight fitting.

Another strong addition to G/FORE's ever growing collection of golf shoes, the MG4+ are an exceptionally comfortable and grippy pair of spiked golf shoes.
The insole is covered in small nubs that give your foot a massage as you walk along which will feel weird as you try the shoe on for the first time and may take a couple of rounds to get used to, but it's easily my favorite feature of G/FORE golf shoes. If you're starting to ache and tire toward the end of the round, simply wiggle your toes or move your foot around in the shoe, and you can get a nice little massaging sensation. It's a feature no other shoe possesses and as a result I think the brand deserve a lot of credit in delivering it.
Although the midsole is a little too chunky for my liking, the outsole is an area in which I have little criticisms of. Although it isn't overly difficult to provide a well executed outsole on a spiked shoe, especially when we consider the quality of modern golf shoes these days, G/FORE have still done a terrific job here. It uses 10 Tour Flex Pro Softspikes, which is more than on the Adidas Tour360 24 or Under Armour Drive Pro, but it doesn't feel like overkill. Not only is this one of the comfiest shoes on the market, I'd also throw it into the conversation for one of the best spiked golf shoes as well.

Skechers' latest slip-in golf shoe is a stellar all-rounder that perfectly pairs the brand’s now signature comfort with elite on-course performance. The absolute highlight is the aforementioned hands-free Slip-In technology, which utilizes a rigid rear framework so you can step right into the shoe without collapsing the heel cup. This structure is then complimented with a plush internal Heel Pillow that securely locks your foot in place, completely eliminating the risk of painful rubbing or blisters.
We'll be honest and say we aren't in love with the aesthetic here - it's an otherwise clean silhouette that feels heavily cluttered by excessive branding. Nevertheless, our on-course testing proved that the impressive performance makes it incredibly easy to live with the design downsides. It easily stands out as one of the best Skechers golf shoes as well as one of the best value golf shoes available this year.

The Sun Day Red Presidio, primarily because it strikes such a perfect chord between elite comfort and a polished, modern look, embracing a sneaker-inspired silhouette.
The comfort is immediate and comes courtesy of a proprietary full-length EVA midsole paired with a cushioned foam heel, while the padded mesh tongue adds essential breathability for those long summer rounds.
Performance-wise, the shoe remains remarkably stable through the swing. An external heel counter keeps your foot securely locked in place, preventing any unwanted sliding - many manufacturers focus heavily on the heel and toe while neglecting the mid-foot area, but the Presidio provides a grounded, stable base from start to finish.
While a spikeless shoe can never quite match the grip of a spiked offering, the Presidio uses a multi-directional lug placement which results in decent grip across a range of playing conditions. Despite its sneaker-esque appearance, the shoe is 100% waterproof, which adds to their versatility and makes them a viable option across the seasons.

How we test

Dan is Golf Monthly's resident shoe expert. Having tested a lot of different models, from loads of brands, he is in a good position to let you know about the pros and cons of specific golf shoes. Then when it comes to spikeless specific models, he knows what regular golfers look for in a shoe - comfort, waterproofing, stability, looks, value and so on and so forth.
When it comes to testing golf shoes Golf Monthly has a strong testing procedure that revolves around putting them to the test over a number of rounds and in a variety of different conditions. We often play multiple rounds in one day in the same shoe too. That way we have a clear understanding of which shoes are more comfortable than others, whilst also making note of things like grip, stability, versatility, looks and overall performance.
Before the testing even begins we often attend product launches and have discussions with the manufacturer’s R&D experts to understand the new technology. That way we know what the technology is supposed to do, and can test for whether it does so.
It is important to stress that each of the shoes I have picked above has been used and thoroughly tested by a member of the Golf Monthly team. The shoe category is overseen by shoe expert Dan Parker, a writer who has been testing golf shoes for years and has amassed quite the collection. He also uses other members of the gear team like Joe Ferguson or Sam Sam De'Ath, all regular golfers with years of experience testing golf products. Wider team members like Deputy Editor Joel Tadman and Senior E-commerce Editor Sam Tremlett also occasionally test golf shoes as well.
As mentioned our testing procedure revolves around using the shoes over a period of time to gauge performance on the big facets like grip, comfort, stability, feel and so on.
We also do very specific testing on brand claims - for example if a brand claims the shoe is waterproof we test for that despite the weather. If it is sunny then we pour water on the shoe to test how waterproof it actually is. We also make sure we test traction and stability claims in different lies and ground conditions because a shoe has to work as much on sand, mud, rough as it does on the fairway and green.
Our testing procedure also gives us information on the little details too. For example hwo comfortable are the shoes right out of the box, do they come up small or large, how do sizes differ from brand to brand. Only by getting the products in our hands can we tell you about the performance insightfully, and with honesty.
The final point to make here is manufacturers cannot buy a good review because we tell it how it is for all golf product reviews, not just golf shoes.
How to choose new golf shoes
Comfort - Obviously the first place to start is comfort. We all have different sizes and shapes of foot which will therefore mean some models are more comfortable than others. As such going to try on different models is invaluable before making a purchase.
Getting the right fit is important because otherwise blisters can build up. Or your feet may slide around inside, which limits your stability.
Spiked or spikeless? - Do you want a spiked or spikeless design? Each have their own pros and cons...
Spiked golf shoes offer better grip and stability but don't sit as low to the ground as spikeless models. Spikeless golf shoes offer off-course versatility but might not offer as much traction. Ultimately, it depends what you prioritize in a golf shoe.
Waterproofing - If you live somewhere that gets a lot of precipitation then waterproof golf shoes are non-negotiable. The best waterproof golf shoes will keep your feet bone dry but if you play in consistently dry conditions then water-resistant or partially waterproof golf shoes might be a better option.
Styling - Thankfully modern golf shoe design has seen many brands not just create traditional, classic-looking shoes, but also casual sneaker shoes that can be used off the golf course too.
Budget - Finally be aware of your budget because you can find a good, comfortable golf shoe at every price point. We've even complied a list of the best budget golf shoes here.

The simple answer here is yes. Golf manufacturers know that golfers spend all their time on their feet, hitting shots, and walking between shots so comfort is absolutely king on the golf course. As such brands like FootJoy, adidas, Ecco, Nike and pretty much any brand that makes golf shoes, puts emphasis on comfort through cushioning, technologies to ensure no rubbing or painful blisters, and breathability. Additionally most shoes these days are made from fabrics that feel soft on the feet to maintain comfort.
What Nike golf shoes are the most comfortable for walking?
At Golf Monthly we have tested pretty much all Nike golf shoes from the current range and the two most comfortable from our testing were the Nike Air Zoom Victory Tour 3 shoes worn by Rory McIlroy, or the Nike Air Zoom Infinity Tour NEXT% shoes worn by Brooks Koepka.
