Thorbjorn Olesen signs for Nike Golf
Talented young Dane Thorbjorn Olesen has signed for Nike Golf in a multi-year deal ahead of the European Tour's Volvo Golf Champions
Thorbjorn Olesen has followed in the footsteps of Nick Watney and Kyle Stanley and signed a multi-year with Nike Golf.
The Dane - who makes his season debut at the Volvo Golf Champions this week - will use the new VR_S Covert Tour driver and other Nike clubs, along with Nike balls, footwear, gloves, apparel, headwear and accessories.
The 23-year-old's bag will include the world's first high speed cavity back driver, VR Pro Limited Edition fairway woods, VR_S Hybrids, VR Pro Blade irons, VR Pro wedges and the Method 001 putter.
The world number 50 will also employ the Nike 20XI ball, sport Nike Golf apparel from the Tour Performance and Sport Collections and wear new Nike Lunar Control II footwear.
"Nike is one of the most recognised and respected sport brands in the world," said Olesen, who will make his first appearance at the Masters in 2013.
"I want to be with a company that focuses on developing products that help me perform at my best. To be part of a brand that respects but challenges the traditions of the game is an honour."
With Nike, Olesen will be hoping to improve on his lone European Tour victory, achieved at the 2012 Sicilian Open.
