European Tour UK Swing Schedule

Thanks to the Coronavirus, as many as 30 tournaments were cancelled or postponed on the European Tour which saw chief executive Keith Pelley look at alternative ways of staging golf tournaments.

Eventually the idea of a 'UK swing' of golf tournaments was created and you can check out the full six-week schedule below.

The behind-closed-doors schedule started with the Betfred (opens in new tab) British Masters hosted by Lee Westwood at Close House (opens in new tab) in Newcastle on the 22nd July.

Italian Renato Paratore won his second European Tour title with a dominating display.

That was followed by the Hero Open at the Marriott Forest of Arden where Sam Horsfield won his maiden European Tour title, beating Belgium's Thomas Detry by one stroke.

The English Championship at Marriott Hanbury Manor came next before the series headed to Wales.

Andy Sullivan won the event by seven strokes after finishing at 27 under par.

From there the Tour staged two tournaments, the Celtic Classic and Wales Open, at Celtic Manor (opens in new tab), the Welsh course that hosted the thrilling 2010 Ryder Cup.

Sam Horsfield won the Celtic Classic by two strokes for his second career victory and second within the space of three weeks.

Frenchman Romain Langasque then won the following event in the Wales Open, coming back from five strokes behind after 54-holes thanks to a bogey-free 65 on Sunday.

The series of tournaments will conclude with the UK Championship at The Belfry (opens in new tab), another venue that has played a key role in the history of the Ryder Cup.
