Troon golf has announced an agreement with the Dubai-based Meydan Group to manage its nine-hole floodlit course, Meydan Golf.
Situated alongside the Meydan Racecourse, home to the Dubai World Cup, and The Meydan Hotel, Meydan Golf has been positioned as a unique model, different to the golf courses currently available in the UAE.
The course measures over 3,600 yards from the back tees and features a
number of natural lakes. Golfers will be able to tee-off as late as
midnight and all levels of ability are welcome, with an open pay-to-play
fee structure as opposed to expensive membership fees.
Meydan Golf's city location also offers players unforgettable views of the Dubai city skyline and the iconic Meydan Racecourse.
Meydan's chairman of the board and CEO, Saeed H Al Tayer, said: "This project is a key strategic initiative in the overall development of Meydan as a centre for leisure and business.
"The developments of Meydan complement one another to feature an enticing alignment of work, leisure and lifestyle. We are pleased to showcase this development to coincide with our internationally famous signature event - The Dubai World Cup."
Vice-president and managing director of Troon EMEA, Bruce Glasco, said: "This is certainly a bold and exciting move from Meydan Group and we are positive that this type of golf option will be embraced by golfers in Dubai.
"Fresh initiatives and modern developments are key in stimulating the frequency and uptake of the game and by exposing golfers to the quality of condition and service Troon is renowned for, we are confident in playing our part in growing the game at a domestic level as well as stimulating interest from the international inbound tourist."
