A guide to the eighth hole on the Old Course at Royal Troon ahead of the 145th Open Championship

Royal Troon Golf Club Hole by Hole: Hole 8

The eighth at Troon has to be one of golf's most famous holes.

Known simply as the 'Postage Stamp' due to the size of the tiny green, this par-3 is no guaranteed birdie.

You play from an elevated tee downhill into the narrow green which is guarded by five bunkers, one short with two on either side.

Tiger famously made six here in 1997 and a German amateur named Hermann Tissies took 15 back at the 1950 Open.
