The tenth is an intimidating start to the back nine, featuring a blind tee shot
A guide to the tenth hole on the Old Course at Royal Troon ahead of the 145th Open Championship
Royal Troon Golf Club Hole by Hole: Hole 10
Hole 10 - Par 4 - 451 yards
Named 'Sandhills' because of the blind tee shot where players have to trust their line as they hit over the sandhills.
The back-nine begins just as it plans to go along - difficult.
The closing half turns into the prevailing wind back towards the clubhouse and the tenth is a very demanding par-4.
The hole is bunker-less and finding the relatively straightforward fairway by no means guarantees a par.
