A guide to the second hole on the Old Course at Royal Troon ahead of the 145th Open Championship

Royal Troon Golf Club Hole by Hole: Hole 2

The second at Troon is named 'Black Rock' due to the reef that lies between the 2nd green and 3rd tee.

The tee shot here is a tricky one as there are three bunkers around 250-275 off the tee that are all in play.

The left-hand trap is 252 yards from the back tees and the two on the right are 264 and 274 from the backs.

The play for some may be to hit a driver to take them out of play where from there it's a short wedge into the green.

The putting surface is guarded at the front on both sides with two pot bunkers.
