A guide to the sixth hole on the Old Course at Royal Troon ahead of the 145th Open Championship

The sixth is named 'Turnberry' as the point of Turnberry, further South of Ayr, can be seen from Troon.
This is the second par-5 on the golf course and the longest hole on the entire Open Championship rota.
The tee shot needs to avoid the bunkers right and left, ranging from 277 to 300 yards.
From there, some will be able to reach whilst those who lay up need to be short of the pot bunker some 55 yards short-left of the green.
The putting surface is guarded by one bunker short-left and is quite narrow so accuracy is at a premium.
