Galvin Green European Ryder Cup Team Outerwear Revealed
Swedish apparel brand Galvin Green has introduced the next generation of premium waterproof garments in the signature white and two-tone blue uniform colours of Team Europe.
Set to make its competitive debut at Hazeltine National later on September 30th, the Ryder Cup range includes the most advanced Gore-Tex waterproofs and Gore Windstopper garments, each one incorporating a brand new fabric technology or golfing style feature.
The Galvin Green multi-layer concept
Galvin Green will be the official Supplier of Weatherwear to the European Ryder Cup Team in 2016, which was finalised after Darren Clarke named his three captain's picks, and 2018 and has left no stone unturned in producing high-performance garments to give European players an edge over their American rivals as weather conditions dictate.
“This is a great opportunity for serious golfers to follow in the clothing footsteps of their Ryder Cup heroes and wear the most advanced rainwear the game has ever seen,” said Christian Nilsson, CEO/Managing Director of Galvin Green. “We’re extremely proud to have been picked to represent Team Europe and these garments reflect our ‘we never compromise’ philosophy perfectly,” he added.

Ryder Cup C-Knit jacket
The first is a premium waterproof full-zip jacket (RRP £370) in ultra-lightweight (260grams) stretch Gore-Tex fabric with new C-Knit backer. The revolutionary Japanese-made fabric has a smooth hand feel and can ‘slide & glide’ easily over garments worn underneath. Its complex 3-layer construction makes it totally waterproof and highly breathable, as well as durable; chest, collar, cuff and waist width are easy to adjust to maximize performance and comfort.
Matching the flagship jackets are premium waterproof trousers (RRP £350) weighing 350 grams in the same ultra-lightweight stretch Gore-Tex fabric with C-Knit backer fabric. They also feature two front pockets with water- repellent zippers and two covered back pockets, plus an elasticated waist with integrated drawstring. A silhouette of the Ryder Cup trophy appears on the left leg.
The jacket is also available in a short-sleeved version with a half-zip (RRP £340), which the brand first introduced to golfing waterproofs in 2005. Both jackets carry the European flag on the back neck, plus the official Ryder Cup shield on the left chest.
Ryder Cup Gore Windstopper
A new Soft Shell Gore Windstopper (RRP £290) has been added to the Ryder Cup range to complement the other garments in terms of styling and performance.
The 3-layer, full-zip jacket combines a tight-knit Polyester outer layer with a Gore Windstopper membrane and a moisture-management inner layer. The most versatile garment to wear in chilly conditions, it is totally windproof, water repellent and highly breathable. It also features the European flag on the back neck, plus the official Ryder Cup shield on the left chest.
The new technology featured in these latest garments will form a key part of the Galvin Green Part 1 collection in 2017. Details of the new Ryder Cup garments can be seen at www.galvingreen.com
