Garrick Higgo has enjoyed a fast ascent up the men's professional ranks having claimed his first worldwide win in May 2019 on South Africa's Big Easy Tour.

In 2020, the South African won for the first time on the DP World before a stellar run the following year saw him win three times in just starts, the later a one-shot victory at the Palmetto Championship in just his second start on the PGA Tour.

Now an established PGA Tour pro, Higgo will look to make the next step in his career alongside his caddie, Tim Butler.

The New Zealander has been a veteran caddie on the PGA Tour for several years and has worked with a number of players, including David Lingmerth, Paul Casey and Emiliano Grillo.

Perhaps the highlight of Butler's caddying career came at the 2015 Memorial where Lingmerth bested Jason Rose in a playoff to claim his maiden PGA Tour win.

"Without a doubt this win is miles ahead of anything before," Butler said, reflecting the win in an interview with the New Zealand Herald.

"I play it back in my mind over and over. When the putt went in it didn't really register until Justin Rose was taking his hat off and walking over to David. It was like your life flashing before your eyes.

"It was crazy. I have had some really neat things happen in my life but that was just unbelievable. There have been a lot of aeroplanes, a lot of hotels, a lot of rental cars - so much had gone into those seven years to get to that moment. It is a big carrot at the end of the stick and keeps you going."

Butler came on board with Higgo in September 2022 after a poor run which had seen the South African miss the cut in five straight events. The duo's partnership got off to an impressive start at the 2022 Sanderson Farms Chamionship, with Higgo notching up a third-place finish.

Prior to working with Butler, Higgo had Nick Cavendish-Pell on the bag.
