TaylorMade-adidas Golf Tour professional Martin Kaymer secures victory at the 2014 US Open at Pinehurst.

Thursday’s opening round at the US Open at Pinehurst saw Martin Kaymer post the lowest ever round.

The TaylorMade-adidas Golf Tour staff professional then went on to repeat his stellar performance on the second day of the tournament, with the end of the US Open

seeing Kaymer take the champion’s position by 8 strokes.

TaylorMade made up 35% of the drivers at Pinehurst, making it the number 1 Driver brand at the US Open for the 14th consecutive year.

Kaymer used the SLDR driver at this year’s US Open after it made its maiden appearance at the 2013 Open Championship.

The SLDR Driver model is currently the No. 1 played Driver model on the PGA & European Tour.

It is engineered with a remarkable low and forward centre of gravity placement, which results in dramatically reduced spin rates.

The German golfer’s US Open success marks his second victory in the last five weeks as well as the second win for adidas Golf footwear.

The 2013 US Open Champion, Justin Rose, also wore adicross gripmore throughout the tournament.

Kaymer is the fourth player in the last two decades to win a second Major championship before turning 30.

Despite rarely making equipment changes, Kaymer also added the new Tour Preferred MC irons to his bag at the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship in February.

As well as his bag of TaylorMade clubs, Kaymer has also worn the adidas Golf adicross gripmore since the WGC-Cadillac Championship in March, where he praised the shoe’s comfort and performance attributes.

Kaymer was also seen wearing adicross gripmore during his dramatic victory at The Players Championship in May and throughout the US Open.

Gripmore technology combines the performance benefits of spiked and spikeless footwear into one revolutionary technology.

As well as enhanced grip, the adicross gripmore is among the most green-friendly shoe the company has ever created.
