The Golf Brand Inspired By Wild Winds And Bold Art – Meet FAMARA
FAMARA is a brand on a mission to disrupt the way women dress for golf

Famara Beach in Lanzarote is a magical place where the wind whips through and shakes your heart and mind. It inspired the name for this company and you’ll see why. Get ready to be invigorated and energised. This is FAMARA.
FAMARA was born on the beach and is definitely making waves in the women's golf apparel market
So often we walk into a professional shop and simply cannot spot where the women’s clothing is. With FAMARA we won’t have that problem. Eye catching and exhilarating, this range captivates as the most impactful impressionist exhibition in a London Gallery would. This is a luxury clothing brand that lifts you up and gets you asking questions.
There’s no wonder the designs evoke such feelings. Inspired by Liz’s contemporary art, the use of vibrant colours and visible brushstrokes within the pattern mean these designs grab your eyes as you walk in the door.
Every patterned item is in fact created from a segment of a different painting. Liz Harwood, founder of FAMARA, is a talented artist (and golfer) and she has quite literally used women’s golf wear as a canvas for us to express ourselves and really stand out on the fairways.
Crafted with co-ordination in mind and colour at the helm, the sheer sleeved long sleeve and sleeveless tops are sheer genius
Liz became frustrated that she couldn’t find golf clothes that really made her feel incredible, she realised there was a big gap in the market. She started her journey to disrupt the way women dress for golf and so FAMARA was born and my word, has it been an entrance onto the greens.
Women all over the world are wearing her clothing and feeling great about themselves. What happens when we feel great? We play great, that’s what. We ooze confidence and we smile more. That’s what FAMARA clothing does. It makes you feel a million dollars. We know the effect wearing clothes that work for us can have on our golf. Their slogan “Look Good, Play Good.” speaks volumes.
Her palette is vibrant, dazzling, and bright. When seeing her paint, that passion and intensity is quite literally embedded into the canvas and therefore onto the clothes themselves. These weren't just scenes she painted of a woman playing golf or of a still life apple. The colour flows into the canvas as Liz’s emotions flow. You can really feel an energy when you wear the clothes. If a woman was looking for golf wear that tells a story, evokes emotion and looks insanely good, well they need look no further.
Golf dresses that speak volumes
But as we know, golf clothes can’t just wow you from the hanger, they need to walk the walk. Golf demands so much of us as women, it is absolutely essential that we feel invincible as well as confident in what we are wearing.
Colour is powerful and the colours we love change on a daily basis depending on our moods. The FAMARA range has something for every day of the year. You can quite literally inject sunshine, power and calm into your mindset by wearing different collections.
But it’s the performance of FAMARA clothing that is as outstanding as the appearance. From the skorts to the “I feel a million dollars” pedal pushers, there are just so many ways to build a winning wardrobe. All of it feels great on and does a brilliant job out on the golf course.
Moisture wicking fabric makes for empowering workout gear
Crafted with sustainable moisture wicking fabric, each piece feels so luxurious and is part recycled. The ability to freewheel through the ball, pace the fairway, collect the ball from the hole and do a celebratory dance is there in abundance.
The pedal pushers stretch and move with you, the most flattering pair of trousers I’ve ever owned. Embellish your pins with these cropped trousers in one of Liz’s designs such as “Periwinkle” and you’ll strut off any green like you own it. Predominantly available in the plain bright colours as well as moss green, you can mix and match with any of the collections from the brand.
The frill-hem dress in Zanzibar print is show stopping
The same can be said with four way stretch skorts, short-sleeved frill-hem dresses and layering pieces, there is so much choice and all of it has been designed with such thoughtfulness and practicality and then expertly crafted.
The collections allow women to customise their golf wardrobe anywhere between a compact and bijou capsule consisting of a few bold and bright plains then a “Periwinkle” or “Daisies” print in either tops or bottoms dropped in to coordinate with blues and yellows.
Word of warning… It’s oh so very easy to go from a capsule to a need for a walk-in wardrobe bursting with all the colours of the rainbow and items that fit like a dream. Whichever you choose you’ll be very happy you decided to upgrade your wardrobe with garments that ooze comfort, coordination and flair.
Women love rocking up in clothing that turns heads and gathers compliments. They don’t love rocking up wearing the same outfit as their playing partner. However, FAMARA turns this on its head and so many of the women I coach will actually use FAMARA as a welcome break to traditional team wear, or as a matchy matchy option for a girls' golf break. You can have SO much fun with this brand and still wear outfits that really celebrate your character and mood.
Sensational both on and off the course
The absolute best part of this collection is how show-stopping it looks off the golf course. I’m a huge fan of buying really great quality clothing that has multiple uses. FAMARA is just that. The Sheer long-sleeve shirts with decadent sleeve detail that shows a peep of skin whilst still protecting from the sun, look amazing with skinny leather jeans or skirt. Apply those heels and off you go to the cocktail bar with only a freshen of makeup needed.
The pedal pushers are show stoppers and fit like a dream. Worn with a strappy top they are like no other pair I’ve ever owned. If I had a three item wish list the pedal pushers, sheer sleeve top and the activewear leggings would be at the top. Then I’d find a way of adding loads of other pieces. I’m like a child in a candy store with this brand, cannot get enough.
It’s no wonder the brand has already been awarded accolades such as Golf Monthly’s Editor's choice in 2024 and 2025, and nominated as finalists beside The Grove and adidas at the prestigious Women in Golf Awards in the UK.
I really feel FAMARA has nailed every aspect of their collections. This isn’t just a golf and activewear brand FAMARA is a statement. You get a story behind each collection, luxurious style and incredible comfort. What more could a woman ask for?
