Wirral Golf Classic to return in 2013

The Wirral Golf Classic will return in September 2013, with the amateur competition taking place over four courses: Caldy, Heswall, Wallasey and Royal Liverpool - host of the 2014 Open Championship

Royal Liverpool

Club Golfers will be invited to get one step ahead of the pros by taking part in a four-course competition in September, including a round at the 2014 Open Championship host venue.

Hoylake links course, managed by Royal Liverpool Golf Club, has been presented with the honour of hosting golf's oldest major for the 12th time, eight years after Tiger Woods won in 2006.

All courses span the river's Dee and Mersey and include Caldy, Heswall and Wallasey, which was a final qualifying course for The Open in 2006.   The entry fees for the competition are currently £229 - though will increase in May - and work out cost effectively to just over the half the green fees of these clubs alone.

Winners will reap over £3000 worth of prizes from Titleist as well as enjoying two social events. For more information, visit: www.wirralgolfclassic.co.uk.
