Cameron Smith has become a global star of golf over the last few years, peaking at the 150th Open Championship with victory. Since then, the Australian has taken his game to new levels and been one of the most consistent players at the top of the men's game.

1. Smith was born in Brisbane, Australia and now lives in Jacksonville, Florida.

2. Smith began playing golf as a two-year-old at Wantima Country Club, a small golf course in the northern suburb of Brisbane where his father - Des - was captain.

3. The Australian turned professional in 2013.

4. He played on the PGA Tour of Australasia in 2013 and the Asian Tour in 2014 before joining the PGA Tour in 2015.

5. His maiden pro title came on the PGA Tour at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans doubles event with Jonas Blixt in May 2017.

6. Smith won the PGA Tour's flagship event - The Players Championship - by two shots from Anirban Lahiri in March 2022. It was his fifth regular PGA Tour title overall.

7. Smith was reportedly offered $100m to join LIV Golf - going on to sign for the PIF-backed circuit after the culmination of the 2022 PGA Tour season.

8. He is the captain of LIV Golf club, Ripper GC - a foursome made up of all Australian professionals. Ripper GC has won one LIV Golf League team trophy - that arrived in 2023 at the Bedminster event.

9. Smith has claimed three individual LIV Golf League victories so far - arriving at LIV Golf Chicago 2022, LIV Golf London 2023, and LIV Golf Bedminster 2023.

10. He's a big fan of the Brisbane Bronco's rugby league team.

11. He wants to own a coffee shop when he retires.

12. Smith is married to Shanel Naoum. The pair tied the knot at the end of 2023. 

13. His best major finish came at the 2022 Open Championship. He shot a final round 64 to win by one stroke from Cameron Young.

Cameron Smith LIV Golf Contract

Cameron Smith joined the LIV Golf League In August 2022 for a reported $143 million, per The Guardian. Initially, before the Australian's Open Championship victory at St Andrews, the figure was thought to be around $100 million.

It is not known how long Smith's LIV contract is, however, many of the big names signed "multi-year" deals after moving over from the PGA Tour in 2022. Dustin Johnson revealed that his first LIV contract is four years.
