With the island's incredible climate and picturesque views, here is a look at the island's six courses and what makes them all such a unique golfing experience. By Harvey Jones
A Guide to Golf In Bermuda
With the North Atlantic island hosting the 2017 America's Cup (opens in new tab), all eyes will be on Bermuda in late May.
As a result, we take a look at the golf courses on the popular British territory and what they all have to offer.
Belmont Hills Golf Club
Designed in 2002 by renowned golf course architect Algie M. Pulley Jr, the Belmont Hill Golf Course is a fantastic contoured showcase of Bermuda’s natural beauty.
Featuring 6,100 yards of strategically laid out bunkers, multi-tiered greens and slender fairways, this world-class layout offers a challenging test for players of all handicaps. Panoramic views of the harbour provides an amazing backdrop for some of the most breathtaking 18 holes on the island.
PRICE: From $110
Turtle Hill Golf Club
Winner of Golf Digest's "Best Places to Play Golf" this course featured 18 tricky par 3s and offers stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean.
The dramatic elevation changes, and strong coastal winds, make this a challenging 2,684-yard golf course designed to test and improve your short game. Be patient as this par-3 course is one of the toughest in the world.
PRICE: From $79 (1-4 Golfers)
Mid Ocean Club
The golf course which was built in 1921 is rated as one of the world's greatest courses.
Over the years Mid Ocean has hosted several major golf events, most notably the 2007 and 2008 PGA Grand Slams of Golf. From scratch through to relative beginners, this Tucker Town based course provides members with the ideal conditions for both casual and competitive golf.
PRICE: $250 (per person)
Ocean View Golf Course
A golf club full of history, this Devonshire district course was originally built by World War I veterans in 1929.
Today, Ocean View offers golfers hybrid Bermuda greens and oak-lined fairways with many undulations and dog-legs. Despite the testing layout, the course presents opportunity for all players to enjoy a fair test of golf, regardless of golfing ability, with its below average yardage.
PRICE: $50 (per person)
Port Royal Golf Course
Strongly regarded as the best course on the island, Port Royal is ranked among the world’s best public golf courses by Golf Digest.
The championship layout plays over 6,842 manicured yards, the longest and most picturesque course in all of Bermuda. Host of the 2014 PGA Grand Slam of Golf, it's 16th hole, par-3 is the feature hole on the course. With the green precariously placed, an anything-but-perfect tee shot will see your ball roll off the cliff into the Atlantic Ocean.
PRICE: $180 (per person)
Tucker’s Point Golf Club
Positioned just a few kilometres from the Mid Ocean Club, Tucker's Point provides just as much a challenge.
Golfers traverse undulating fairways with a number of elevated tees, while coping with the varying speed and direction of changeable winds.
Many holes and greens boast dramatic water and overland views, and the greens feature TifEagle, a Bermuda-grass hybrid that makes for a quick putting surface.
No need to worry about room on the practice green either, the club boasts a 10,000 square foot putting green and chipping area.
PRICE: from $150 (per person)
