Ryder Cup Dates: September 26 - September 28, 2025
The 2025 Ryder Cup will pit 12-man teams from the USA and Europe against each other at Bethpage State Park Golf Course in order to battle it out over three days of what is sure to be highly dramatic matchplay golf.
The Course - Bethpage State Park (Black Course)
Bethpage Black is one of the most famous golf courses on the planet and has staged some of the greatest events in the game over the years.
Since opening in 1936, the public golf course on Long Island, New York has hosted the US Open twice - in 2002 and 2009 - while welcoming the 2019 PGA Championship to Farmingdale. In addition, Bethpage Black hosted the PGA Tour's The Barclays tournament in 2012 and 2016.
Widely known as one of the toughest layouts around, Bethpage Black is perhaps most famous for the sign by the first tee which reads: "WARNING The Black Course Is An Extremely Difficult Course Which We Recommend Only For Highly Skilled Golfers."
For the 2025 Ryder Cup, it will measure as a 7,352-yard par 70 and include only two par-4 holes less than 400 yards long. Meanwhile, there is the 608-yard par-5 13th to contend with as each match reaches its sharpest point.
The Format
Friday, September 26th: Two sessions of foursomes and fourballs - eight points to be won.
Saturday, September 27th: Two sessions of foursomes and fourballs - eight points to be won.
Sunday, September 28th: Singles - 12 points to be won.
First team to reach 14.5 points wins the Ryder Cup - if the score is level at 14 points a side then Team Europe will retain the trophy as they won the previous Ryder Cup at Marco Simone.
Team USA
Keegan Bradley takes on the role of captain after turning down the chance to perform playing duties as well. Woodstock, Vermont-born Bradley takes over from Zach Johnson for his 'home' Ryder Cup and is expected to draw a considerable amount of support from the New York faithful.
Bradley's vice-captains are Jim Furyk, Kevin Kisner, Webb Simpson, Brandt Snedeker and Gary Woodland.
