Hanbury Manor, a Nicklaus-designed course, hosted a 36-hole TP Tour event earlier this month. Graham Povey from Hertfordshire claimed the title posting tournament rounds of 70 and 67 to finish seven under par.

The course, a former host to the English Open, was said to be in fantastic condition, and accommodated an impressive field, including European Tour Winner Tom Lewis and former Asian Tour player Simon Griffiths.

Tom Lewis eventually finished in third place whilst Griffiths took the second spot following a strong first round to take the lead.

The next swing on the TP Tour saw Ealing Golf Club host the annual London Pairs Open. The field consisted of 46 teams including many leading touring professionals such as former Ryder Cup star, Paul Broadhurst.

The unique format provided much excitement, as 18 holes betterball was followed by a cut, and a subsequent four-hole play off amongst the the top six pairings.

In the end, Challenge Tour players Adam Gee and James Heath secured the victory after a sudden death play off against Peter Tarver Jones and partner Ben Martin; the winning score was an impressive eight under.

The TP Tour boasts an impressive venue roster and was founded by former Ryder Cup player and European Tour no.1 Ronan Rafferty. The idea is to attract both experienced tour professionals as well as young aspiring players to provide extra competition througout the season.
