Administered jointly by The R&A and the USGA, the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR) website has been launched, incorporating both the men's and women's rankings.
The newly launched World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR) website ranks over 8,000 amateur players based on more than 3,000 worldwide counting events, comparing amateur performances in elite competition over a rolling 52-week period.
The current men's number one amateur is reigning US Amateur Champion, Peter Uihlein. The women's number one is 2010 LPGA Xavier International Champion Mitsuki Katahira from Japan.
The introduction of the women's ranking was only announced earlier this month, but already has a calendar of 1,350 counting events with more than 5,000 players from 70 countries.
The men's ranking was established on January 1, 2007. More than 5,000 players are ranked in 1,800 counting events across 70 countries. There have been 17 WAGR number ones since its creation, including Northern Ireland's Rory McIlroy and the America's Rickie Fowler.
