Valhalla is one of the USA's most renowned modern courses, having hosted a number of major tournaments since its opening in 1986.
The Jack Nicklaus-designed course has staged two previous USPGA Championships - in 1996 and 2000, where Tiger Woods edged out Bob May in a dramatic play-off.
Valhalla Golf Course also played host to the 2008 Ryder Cup, the only contest the USA has won since Brookline in 1999.
