Kevin Na is a Korean-American golfer who has played on a handful of major tours throughout a long and successful career. Discover more about his life and journey through the game via these facts.
KEVIN NA FACTS
1. His full name is Kevin Sangwook Na.
2. Na was born in Seoul, South Korea on September 15, 1983.
3. Eventually, at the age of eight he and his family would move to California and he became an American citizen at the age of 18. He told PGATour.com: “My mother is an American citizen, and so when I turned 18 — I was born in Korea, so when I turned 18 I basically had a choice. I could become an American citizen or stay a Korean citizen, and I chose to be an American citizen and so I just filled out the paperwork and got it in the mail.”
4. Na took up the game of golf when he was nine years old.
5. Na would leave his high-school, Diamond Bar High School, at the age of 17 to focus on his golf career.
6. He turned professional in 2001 and joined the Asian Tour for the first couple of season, also featuring on the European Tour. Na later earned his PGA Tour card ahead of the 2004 season.

7. After missing six months of the 2006 campaign with a hand injury, Na made a rehab start at the Mark Christopher Charity Classic on the Nationwide Tour but ended up winning it.
8. He appeared in a January 2010 episode of "CSI: Las Vegas" on CBS along with Rocco Mediate, Duffy Waldorf, Gary McCord and David Feherty.
9. Na famously made a 16 on one par-4 during the 2011 Valero Texas Open. What gets forgotten though is that despite being 12-over par on one hole, he shot an 80 which means he played the rest of his round in four-under.
10. Na has had five PGA Tour victories. His first came in 2011 at the Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open and his most recent came at the 2021 Sony Open in Hawaii.

11. After winning the 2019 Charles Schwab Challenge, Na won a 1973 Dodge Challenger, which he promptly gave to his caddie.
12. Na has made a hole-in-one seven times throughout his career.
13. His best world ranking to date is 19th.
14. His wife is called Julianne and they have been married since 2016.
15. He and his wife have three children together called Sophia, Leo and Logan, and they currently reside in Las Vegas, Nevada.

16. Na's best finish at a Major arrived in the 2016 US Open at Oakmont Country Club. He ended one-over-par for the championship but solo seventh.
17. In June 2022, he announced his resignation from the PGA Tour in order to join what would go on to be known as the LIV Golf League.
18. Na was made captain of LIV Golf side, Iron Heads GC in 2023 and has held that role ever since.
19. In his three seasons with LIV, Na has finished 36th (2022), 30th (2023), and 33rd (2024).
20. According to his LIV Golf bio, the golfer Na most admires is Ben Hogan.
