Mark Murphy has emerged victorious from the first day of the Celeb Am competition at the Farmfoods British Par 3 Championship.
He led the field at the halfway point, and his score of -3 under par proved to be unassailable for those teeing off in the afternoon.
Also putting in strong performances on the first day of the competition were football commentator Alan McInally, Open runner-up Gordon J Brand and former Arsenal footballer John Jensen.
Meanwhile, the team competition was won by a score of -17 by ‘The Social Golfer'.
Runners up were ‘Farmfoods 1', featuring golfer Peter Baker, who were just one behind on -16.
The Pro-Am action got underway this morning with the first tee-time at 07.20 am and gates opening at 08.00 am.

Defending Champions DJ Russell will be hoping to retain the title he won so convincingly last year.
