Was out on the course when this happened and heard the roar from miles away. Not surprising really!
What a shot from Matt Jones. #TheOpenhttps://t.co/ZApXXtLlv5

And this wasn’t half bad either!

Great insight into Phil’s pre-round routine. He arrives at the practice ground a lot later than some other players!

Fine 68 from Jordan Spieth today. He’ll likely finish inside the top 30 and head to the USPGA at Baltusrol with some momentum [Getty Images]
Well, you know what they say: start as you mean to go on.
Any early round nerves Phil? 😉

They aren’t backing down, folks! This is a ding-dong battle…

A great week’s work from Matthew Southgate, who fired a final-round 69 to set the clubhouse lead on one-under-par. He’s currently in a tie for 13th – he’d never made the cut in a Major before this week.
He’s been nowhere near his best, but it’s looking like another Major top five for Rory McIlroy.

Remarkable from Mickelson. Only Stenson’s brilliance means he’s not way out in front.

He’s 52 and he’s going to finish inside the top 20 at The Open. The man just keeps on giving.

Incredible scenes!

Huge up-and-down from Stenson on 16! [Getty Images]
That’s officially the best round of golf I’ve ever seen. Huge congratulations to the 2016 Champion Golfer of the Year, Henrik Stenson!
The putt that won it. Well done Henrik. #TheOpen pic.twitter.com/ChYMyMswyP

And here’s what it means to the man whose name is now officially withdrawn from the ‘best player never to have won a Major’ conversation [Getty Images]
Remarkable. Mickelson and Stenson would have shot a 59 if they were playing better ball! I wonder who the last person to play in the final group of a Major, not drop a shot and not take the title was! [Getty Images]
