Golf Monthly Verdict

The TravisMathew Daily Pro Hybrid golf shoe is one of the most versatile golf shoes I have ever tested. They should be ordered in a size up due to a narrow fit but once on, they are extremely comfortable to walk in. The casual knitted upper makes this a great summer shoe but the lack of waterproof material will see your feet get wet if caught in an unexpected shower.

There’s no denying golf fashion has changed drastically over the past couple of years and will continue to do so and a lot of golfers have adopted a far more casual look while on the course. TravisMathew are a brand that showcases the comfort and style of their ‘So Cal’ heritage while still providing apparel and footwear with performance benefits and little could exemplify that more than the Daily Pro Hybrid golf shoe.

So can the Daily Pro Hybrid golf shoe be considered one of the best golf shoes? This shoe is versatile personified with its athletic style mixed with a knitted upper and superb traction thanks to the rubber nubs on the sole. This casual aesthetic this shoe boasts means it can comfortably be worn as much away from the golf course as it can on it and will match any casual outfit for an evening range session. This kind of versatility should in my opinion have this shoe considered as one of the best spikeless shoes on the market.

I would say there is something I don’t particularly like about gray golf shoes for some reason so this exact colorway wasn’t to my exact taste, but fear not, there are six color options available in the Daily Pro Hybrid shoe via the TravisMathew website, with the White/Gum colorway my particular favorite.

One big point worth noting with this shoe is that it does fit quite narrow and as much as the ‘SweetSpot’ cushioning felt extremely comfortable underfoot, I struggled with how tight these shoes fitted over the bridge of my foot and would definitely recommend ordering a size up because of this. When wearing the right size I have no hesitation in saying this shoe would be one of the most comfortable golf shoes you are likely to wear.

Due to a prolonged winter here in the UK I have had many opportunities now to test this shoe in damper conditions and was very surprised with how solid the traction was. As someone who uses the ground a lot in my swing, I sometimes struggle with spikeless shoes but these held their grip just as well as some of the best spiked golf shoes, even in wetter conditions. As much as the Daily Pro Hybrid shoes did provide good stability for a spikeless shoe, they are by no means waterproof and unexpected showers did leave my feet wet on a few occasions.

I would recommend the Daily Pro Hybrid golf shoe for the golfer who wants a shoe to run around 9 holes in and then hit the bar afterwards. These versatile shoes will still look great with non-golf attire and could be considered the perfect summer golf shoe. You’ll certainly get a lot of use out of them on and off the course and for $139 I feel as though you get a lot of shoe for your money.
