Justin Rose - What's in the Bag?
Golf Monthly looks at the equipment used by England's Justin Rose during his first tour victory of 2011 at the BMW Championship, Cog Hill GC, Illinois
England's Justin Rose put in an impressive performance to win the BMW Championship at Cog Hill this weekend to move into 3rd place in the FedEX Cup.
Rose, using the TaylorMade R11 driver, finished two shots clear of Australia's John Senden, who also used the R11, to claim his first tour victory of 2011. He has now put himself in contention for the $10million first prize on offer in next weekend's Tour Championship.
The Englishmen had to grind out the win after a bogey at the 15th hole in his final round reduced his lead to one shot. He then holed a superb chip at the 17th to all but guarantee victory.
NBC Sports golf analyst Johnny Miller noted it was his putting that secured him the win. Miller said: "That white putter; if he wins, it's going to be because of what he did inside ten feet."
Miller was referring to the Corza Ghost putter used by Rose with such devastating effect throughout the week, only missing two putts from inside ten feet in four rounds. He has now used this putter for all three of his career tour wins.
It is the 42nd victory worldwide this year in which the winner has used a TaylorMade driver, more than any other brand. TaylorMade-adidas is now represented by five out of the top ten in the FedEx Cup standings.
So what else was in his bag?
