Scotty Cameron Teryllium T22 Newport
The Major winning Scotty Cameron Teryllium putter is one of the most iconic from the last 30 years, and it’s one many golf fans will look back on with great nostalgia.
22 years after the first Tel3 models were introduced, back in 1997, Scotty Cameron announced the release of modernised versions under the moniker T22 – The T22 Newport, T22 Newport 2 plus the T22 Fastback 1.5 – the first Fastback 1.5 with a Teryllium insert.
These superb putters deliver a modernised take on the classic Tel3 models. They’re precision milled from 303 stainless steel and feature the same tactical matte black finish and distinctive “domino” pattern in the cavity, but they have been designed to specifications demanded by golfers today.
An updated Teryllium inlay construction with an improved elastomer vibration dampening membrane combines with Scotty’s removable sole weight technology and increased head weight to enhance performance.
The T22 Newport and T22 Newport 2 feature more modern shaping and a slightly flatter topline while the T22 Fastback 1.5 incorporates a mini-slant neck and four-way sole balancing for a square set-up.
The feel off the Teryllium insert is superb, the sound at impact is fantastic and the feedback from the strike is second to none. Perfectly weighted, all three putters in this range remain supremely stable through the stroke and release freely through the ball.
As you would expect from Scotty Cameron, these are beautifully designed and crafted putters featuring a wonderful blend of classic styling and modern technology.
A touch of nostalgia
Looking down on the matte black finish, or simply admiring the Teryllium insert or domino effect cavity, stirs great memories of past golfing champions, it’s really quite inspiring. Combine that with the knowledge these putters feature the very latest in Scotty Cameron technology and you have something rather special.
