Qualifying School to commence this week
The first stage of the European Tour Qualifying school will begin at two venues.
The annually ran Qualifying School gets underway this week, as professionals and amateurs fight to fulfil their dream and earn a place on the European Tour, and its development tour, The Challenge Tour.
Qualifying school can be broken down into three stages. The first stage is played throughout September and into early October at eight different venues in Europe, each hosting 102 players.
Not only will promising, up-and-coming talent be participating in this years tournaments, but also previous European Tour players looking to earn back their tour card.
The second stage will be likely to see only 25% of the first stage competitors.
They will then tee off once again trying to qualify for the next stage.
The line-up of the venues is the same as in 2012, and all second round stages will be held at stunning venues in Spain.
The demanding elimination process will take only the top 156 players into the final rounds played at PGA Catalunya Resort in Spain.

On Tuesday this week the battle began as hopefuls tee off in the first stages of Qualifying School in Austria and Scotland.
