Jiménez joins strong field in Abu Dhabi
Miguel Angel Jiménez has signed up for the Abu Dhabi Golf Championship where he will compete for a share of the $2 million prize fund later this month.
Miguel Angel Jiménez has joined the impressive list of players who will compete in the 2007 Abu Dhabi Golf Championship at the Abu Dhabi Golf Club from January 18-21. He joins the likes of defending champion Chris DiMarco, Colin Montgomerie, Retief Goosen, Sergio Garcia, Henrik Stenson and Padraig Harrington to make up an excellent field at the beginning of the European Tour season. ?Last year I finished fifth, just five shots off the blistering pace set by Chris and Henrik Stenson. That said, it was a fantastic championship to play in, and I?ve competed in a few,? said Jiménez. ?I?ll be looking to start as strongly as I did in the inaugural championship and keep that momentum going into my final round. I know the course has been improved and upgraded since last year, which is fantastic for the players and the spectators ? it should lead to plenty of twists and turns during the four days and keep us all on our toes.?
