Nairn golf club agree first ever sponsorship deal
Nairn golf club have agreed their first sponsorship deal with European Tour rookie Pamela Pretswell.
Pamela Pretswell will become the first touring professional to sport Nairn golf club's cross-club logo after signing a sponsorship deal with the Highland club.
The agreement is the first in the club's 125 year history, and comes off the back of Great Britain and Ireland's victory in the Curtis Cup, which was held at the links course last year.
"I have been back many times to Nairn since the Curtis Cup and, to be honest, it feels like my second home," said Pretswell.
"I love it there; the people are so friendly, the views are stunning and there aren't many golf courses like it. I feel very proud to be representing a great club like Nairn with such a long history and established worldwide reputation."
Until now, the club has resisted forming links with tour players, but the magnitude of the historic victory over America, and Pretswell's role in it, presented Nairn with a perfect opportunity to make its first commitment.
"Pamela is a phenomenal talent and The Nairn Golf Club is proud to support her at the start of her professional career," said club captain Ian Cooper.
"Pamela's involvement in last year's Curtis Cup was immense and we felt it was appropriate that our first association with a professional golfer should be with one of the key members of that historic winning team. We look forward to helping Pamela throughout her career and no doubt celebrating with her in the future."
