The Callaway Apex MB is a new forged muscleback, while the Callaway Apex UT is a forgiving and workable long iron replacement.
When Callaway’s tour players came to the company wanting the precision of a blade with added playability, the R&D team got to work. The result is the new Callaway Apex MB, a classic muscleback forged iron that is packed full of game enhancing technology.
To add extra playability Callaway refined the sole camber to make it interact with the turf better through impact from a variety of lies.
The new better player irons also share the same grooves as found in the Apex Pro irons, a wide spaced design that delivers consistent spin rates to give you more control.
The Apex MB (£799 4-PW) will also be joined by the Apex UT (£169 per club), a forged face cavity back iron that is more forgiving than a classic long iron, and more workable than a traditional hybrid.
The Apex UT design includes a Forged Face Cup that helps create faster ball speeds across the face for extra distance, while sole weighting lowers the centre of gravity to make them easier to launch.
A Hollow Body further increases the club’s forgiveness, with the KBS Tour Steel Shaft or a UST Recoil Graphite shaft the two stock offerings.
