Sun Mountain Cirque II Jacket Review
I got to test the latest top of the range jacket from Sun Mountain, and here is how it performed...
Despite perhaps a bit of rustling noise during the swing, the new Cirque II Jacket from Sun Mountain performed brilliantly in my testing. I found it to offer complete waterproof protection, it paired nicely with layers underneath, it looks great everywhere and it's comfortable. An excellent jacket I recommend trying for yourself.

Sun Mountain may be best known for golf bags but in 2026 we have tested a lot of golf apparel from the brand and if you need more polos, midlayers, hoodies and outerwear, it should definitely be a brand to consider. Based on our testing, rain jackets certainly continue that theme as well. Having already tested the value-friendly Monsoon rain jacket I figured it was time to test out the top of the range rain jacket from the brand, the Cirque II.
Right away I absolutely loved the unique Dark Feldspar colorway I got to test and there are a couple more in black and navy to go for as well. For me the overall look is subtle, versatile, and keeps things simple which is what I’m mostly looking for in a rain jacket. I don’t need it to have a super fancy, unique aesthetic, I need it to look good on and off the golf course and this certainly achieves that. In fact I would say I’ve used this jacket more off the course on walks and in ever-changing weather conditions, more than on it.
Speaking of weather, the waterproofing and protection from the Cirque II is outstanding. It has a seam-sealed waterproof and windproof construction, with the fabric getting a 20K/30K waterproof and breathability rating. This 20K number means this jacket can withstand 20,000 millimetres of water pressure through the fabric, whilst the 30K relates to the elite-level sweat evaporation so heat and sweat can escape quickly. Of course in my testing this is hard to quantify myself but all I can say is the rain protection was top-notch and at no point did I feel too hot which can often be the case with rain jackets. Obviously the waterproof zippers further ensure no water can penetrate these areas as well.
I found this jacket also to be lightweight and comfortable, with there being a number of smaller design features I really liked. First the ability to adjust the cuffs and hem are a no-brainer on all good rain jackets these days, whilst I liked the internal hidden chest pocket, and the reflective logos were a nice touch.
The final point I wanted to mention on the fabric is the outer shell didn’t have that plastic-y feel which can be a common problem for rain jacket materials, so I wanted to acknowledge that. That being said during swings it can often make a bit of a rustling sound which some may not like, but it did not hinder my enjoyment using this jacket at all.
Overall I think Sun Mountain continues to show how good their products are, and no longer should people think it only makes high-quality golf bags. This is because from my testing, the Cirque II and other pieces of apparel certainly deliver high performance as well.
