Kennemer seems the type of course where class will generally prevail, and that could bode well for Euro legend JOSE MARIA OLAZABAL. Olly is on the comeback trail after a spate of injuries, and while he's unlikely to ever consistently return to his best, he is still good enough to win in this company. Not dissimilar to last year's champion Darren Clarke, as it happens. Olly has made his last seven cuts, and finished sixth on another short links course in the vastly stronger Heritage Classic. Finally, a few words about the rest. Last year's runner-up Paul McGinley would have a chance if returning to his best, as would Alastair Forsyth. The latter has his ideal track, but nothing over the last few months to recommend him. Lee Slattery and Jamie Donaldson have claims on the best of their 2009 form, though its been comfortably factored into their odds. And at much bigger prices, Gary Orr, Patrick Sjoland and Richie Ramsay all came in for consideration, and could offer some value in the place markets or as in-running trades.
