BA-CA Golf Open Preview
The European Tour returns to the impressive Fontana Golf Club in Austria where local Marcus Brier has a fantastic record.
Tournament: BA-CA Golf Open
Course: Fontana GC, Vienna, Austria
Prize fund: ?1,300,000
Course details: par 71, 7,071 yards. The American-style course opened in 1996 and incorporates an enormous man-made lake.
Key hole: The 18th is a great finishing hole that could well decide the tournament if things are tight on Sunday. Many of the pros will be able to reach the par 5 in two but the lake continues behind the green, spelling trouble for anyone who goes long.
The lowdown: All eyes will be on in-form Marcus Brier as he returns
to his homeland to defend the BA-CA Golf Open. Brier became the first Austrian to win on the European Tour and achieving his victory in Austria made it even sweeter. The 27-year-old is affiliated to Fotana Golf Club and has an amazing record here ? he won twice when the club featured on the Challenge Tour schedule.
