Alexander Levy won the Portugal Masters after the final rounds were cancelled

Frenchman Alexander Levy won the Portugal Masters after the final two rounds of the event in Vilamoura were cancelled due to heavy rain and storms
Alexander Levy of France won the second European Tour title of his career, and the 2014 season, with a three-shot victory over Nicolas Colsaerts.
Levy took the title after the final two rounds of the event had to be called off due to heavy rain and parts of the Oceanico Victoria Course becoming unplayable due to water logging.
The Frenchman had snatched the lead after 36 holes thanks to a 61 he shot in round two, a round that contained 10 birdies.
He beat Nicolas Colsaerts who followed up a 60 in round one, where he agonisingly missed out on the European Tour’s first 59, with a second round of 67.
The victory for Levy was his second of the season after he triumphed at the Volvo China Open in April.
“It feels very special,” said Levy. “If at the start of the year you had said I would win two tournaments I would say ‘never!’ to you.

Levy ended up only playing a handful of shots over the weekend, after the final round was called off just after the leaders had teed off.
“I played only four shots at the weekend and I won the tournament, but the most important thing is I have the trophy in my hand.”
The European Tour moves to England this week and the Volvo World Match Play Championship at the London Club, they will be hoping for drier conditions in Kent than that of Portugal.
