Tony Jacklin opens latest Troon course in Morocco

Golfing legend Tony Jacklin has opened his new golfing venue in Morocco, the fourth Troon course to open in the country. The Tony Jacklin, Casablanca, forms an integral part of the Bouskoura Golf City; the all-new golfing development just minutes from Casablanca.

Tony Jacklin, along with a host of distinguished VIPs, opened the latest addition to Troon’s Moroccan portfolio on 14th June 2014, with Jacklin officially unveiling the facility to the golfing public.

Jawad Ziyat, General Manager, commented, “We are delighted to have had the opportunity to host Tony Jacklin, we couldn’t think of a better way to open our facility to the golfing fraternity. We look forward to welcoming golfers from across the globe to Casablanca to sample Bouskoura Golf City and all that it has to offer.”

The Tony Jacklin, with the revered management, hospitality and service of Troon, is an excellent new option for local golfers and international visitors to Morocco alike.

The new 7,034-yard course blends seamlessly with the array of unique accommodation offered by Bouskoura Golf City. The area exudes an urban-feel; including stand-alone villas as well as upscale apartments in its design.

This new venture promotes family engagement throughout, with a lavish hotel and spa, stylish shopping area and first-rate leisure and educational facilities. The original architecture of Morocco is blended with modern comfort.

The course itself includes a variety of parkland holes, which are surrounded by the community’s amenities, as well as the staggering Bouskoura Forest, making the experience a pleasure for golfers of all ages and abilities.

Two-time Major Champion Tony Jacklin commented on the opening of his newest course, saying “Being so close to the development from its infancy as a piece of land to the course we have in front of us has been extremely exciting and it’s great to see the finished product. To be accompanied by such a wide-ranging collection of additional amenities that form part of Bouskoura Golf City, I am delighted with the end result I’m sure that many, many golfers will enjoy playing here.”

In addition to the Tony Jacklin, the Troon Morocco portfolio includes three other venues in the Kingdom.

El Jadida is home to the Mazagan Beach and Golf Resort, featuring the spectacular links-style golf course designed by Gary Player.

Oued Fes is located alongside the King’s Royal Palace and was designed by highly valued architect Jonathon Gaunt. It boasts an 18-hole course which offers woodland, wetland and grassland.

PalmGolf Marrakech-Palmarie, the beautiful 27-hole course designed by Robert Trent Jones, has recently selected Troon to manage its golf experience and is now thriving as a leading golf facility.

The venue will soon be accompanied by two sister PalmGolf venues, Ourika and Casablanca, which will also be under Troon’s management, taking their presence in the country to six facilities.
