The Farmfoods British Par 3 Championship has announced a major prize fund increase to coincide with its 80th anniversary.

From August 6-9, competitors will head to Nailcote Hall to compete for a prize fund of £100,000, double the amount on offer last year.

This year's winner will take home a cheque for £25,000, an increase of £10,000 from last year's first prize.

"We are delighted to be able to announce this dramatic 100% increase in the Farmfoods British Par 3 Championship prize fund," said Matthew Hayes, Managing Director of Champions (UK) plc.

"It has become one of the most successful golfing events in the UK and attracts major interest from sponsors, spectators, media and golfers alike.

"We would like to thank all of our sponsors for their ongoing commitment to making this event truly special and we are committed to continue making it bigger and better every year."

"It's fantastic to see that the Farmfoods British Par 3 Championship continues to go from strength to strength. It is truly a global celebration of par-3 golf."
