Si Woo Kim is a South Korean professional golfer who plays on the PGA Tour. He has multiple pro victories and became the youngest ever winner of the Players Championship after winning in 2017 at the age of 21. Get to know Kim a little better with these facts.

1. Kim was born in Seoul, South Korea on June 28, 1995.

2. He went to Sinsung High School and Yonsei University in Seoul.

3. He learned golf from his father, saying he is the only teacher he has ever had.

4. He turned pro in 2012.

5. At the age of 17, he became the youngest-ever graduate from the PGA Tour's qualifying school in 2012, finishing 20th to earn his card for the following year.

6. Due to the PGA Tour's rule that members must be at least 18 years old, Kim didn't make his first appearance until midway through the 2013 season, instead having to settle for some starts on what is now the Korn Ferry Tour.

7. Kim initially had a tough time on the PGA Tour and would immediately lose his card following seven missed cuts and a withdrawal in his debut season.

8. After regaining his card for the 2016 season, Kim bagged his first PGA Tour victory at the 2016 Wyndham Championship, becoming the season's youngest winner at age 21.

9. Kim is the youngest winner of The Players Championship after his three-shot victory in 2017, also at the age of 21.

10. He is also the second-lowest ranked player to have won at TPC Sawgrass at 73rd in the world. Only Craig Perks was ranked lower when he shocked the golfing world in 2002.

11. In 2021, Kim claimed the third PGA Tour victory of his career at the American Express, beating Patrick Cantlay by one stroke with a score of 23-under.

12. His most recent win on the PGA Tour came at the 2023 Sony Open in Hawaii, where he won by one stroke over Hayden Buckley.

13. He has played in three Presidents Cups for the International team, picking up six points from a possible 11 throughout 2017, 2022 and 2024.

14. His best finish in a Major is T12th at the 2021 Masters. He has top-15 finishes in each of the other three as well.

15. Kim helped South Korea win gold at the Asian Games, and in doing so, earned an exemption from mandatory 21 months of military service for his home nation.

16. He represented his country at the delayed 2020 Tokyo Olympics, finishing in 32nd place.

17. His career-best ranking is 28th after his 2017 Players win.

18. He is married to fellow pro golfer Ji Hyun Oh, with the couple tying the knot in December 2022. They have a son called Theo.

19. His dream foursome is Tiger Woods, KJ Choi and Adam Scott.

20. His ideal choice for an alternative career to golf would be soccer player. On a similar note, his favorite athlete is Cristiano Ronaldo

21. Away from the golf course, Kim enjoys horseback riding.

22. Kim holds the record for the two longest aces ever made in men's Major championships. The first was 238 yards and arrived at the 2024 Open Championship (Royal Troon) while the second was 252 yards and took place at the 2025 PGA Championship (Quail Hollow).
