A second phase of development has started on the highly-rated Centurion Club in Hertfordshire, including construction of a new, state-of-the-art Club Building.
The private club, located near St Albans, has proceeded with the development of the new structure and a 850 square-metre greenskeepers' complex.
Work on the greenskeepers' complex is expected to take three to four months, with the new Club Building - which overlooks the 18th green - due to conclude in the summer of 2015.
The club launched to high acclaim last summer, and a quarter of Centurion's membership packages have already been taken up.
The new building is a two-story structure designed by Harrison Mutch Architects, with exterior features including limestone walls, a grey slate roof and Iroko wood windows.
The interior, meanwhile, will provide comfort and relaxation alligned to the club's ethos in an area which includes high-spec locker rooms, a restaurant and bar and private rooms for banqueting, conferences and meetings.
"This is an exciting time at Centurion Club and its rapidly growing membership," said Managing Director Scott Evans.
"The construction of our new Club Building represents the latest phase in our plan to provide members with a private club of unrivalled quality.
"We've had some terrific comment son the course and I'd like to think our new Club Building will attract similar acclaim when it opens next year."
