Emma Goddard crowned Cheshire Ladies Champion
For the second year running, Emma Goddard, a Macdonald Portal Hotel, Golf & Spa’s golf sales assistant in Cheshire has been crowned the prestigious Cheshire Champion.
For the second year running, Emma Goddard, a Macdonald Portal Hotel, Golf & Spa’s golf sales assistant in Cheshire has been crowned the prestigious Cheshire Champion.
Emma Goddard from Halewood in Liverpool competed in the three-day competition, which recognizes talented golfers.
The competition is open to any Cheshire Club player with a maximum handicap of seven.
Goddard, who was 2013’s Cheshire Ladies Champion adds this accolade to a plethora of previous achievements including European Girls Faldo Series in 2007, playing in the Callaway World Championships in 2007 to 2009.
Goddard has also represented the Cheshire Ladies for the past five years.
Commenting on her win, Emma said: “I was competing against 40 talented women and I’m thrilled to have won this top award.

“It is recognised greatly in the industry and confirms my love and passion for the sport itself.”

In order to pursue a career in golf, Emma Goddard joined the hotel’s Premier Golf Club in January.
The hotel has three golf courses to choose from as well as resident professionals on hand for expert advice.
Set in the heart of beautiful Cheshire countryside, the 18-hole Championship and Premier Golf Courses and 9-hole Arderne course makes Macdonald Portal Hotel, Golf & Spa a world-class championship golf venue.
The hotel recently celebrated being named AA Hotel Group of the Year 2013/2014.
