Shell Houston Open golf betting tips

Check out who our tipster has gone for this week on the PGA Tour

The last PGA Tour event before the Masters, for some this is great practice, for others it is the last chance to make it to Augusta, take a look at who our tipster has picked to do well with our Shell Houston Open golf betting tips

Shell Houston Open golf betting tips

The Shell Houston Open is a really decent tournament the week before the Masters.

The winner gets an automatic invite to play at Augusta and this added pressure can really lead to some dramatic finishes.

None more so that last season where Matt Jones holed a monster putt to force a play-off and then holed a chip on the way to winning his first PGA Tour title and getting that all-important Augusta invite.

Jones plays again this season and after struggling for a while looks to be back in some form and is around 35/1 to win.

The markets are led by Jordan Spieth, who won a couple of weeks ago, and is starting to look very dangerous coming into Masters week.

Shell Houston Open golf betting tips advised bets

Lee Westwood £2 each way at 30/1 The Englishman has an outstanding record on this course, finishing top 25 in five of the last six starts. Also has been playing well in Europe and the US.

Shawn Stefani £1.50 each way at 40/1 He lives locally to Houston and is having a very solid season being 18th on the FedEx Cup. Finished 5th here in 2014, so definitely someone to keep an eye on.

Nick Watney £1 each way at  £80/1 Will he have a good week or a bad week? He doesn't know, we don't know… but we can hope that he plays like he did when finishing top 25 five times this season and not the four times he was cut.

Brian Davis £0.50 at 200/1 Disappointed when we picked him a few weeks back, he is one to consider again due to the face he has three top 15 finishes here in the last 7 seasons. The kind of guy you want at this price.
