Under Armour Gore-Tex Tips waterproof suit

The jacket and trousers offer full stretch, three-layer Gore-Tex technology

The new Under Armour Gore-Tex Tips waterproof jacket and trousers are the first in golf to offer full stretch, three-layer Gore-Tex technology.

Under Armour has partnered with leading outerwear technology specialist Gore-Tex for the launch of their latest waterproof suit.

The Under Armour Gore-Tex Tips waterproof suit is being heralded as the next generation in golf rainwear by being the first three-layer, full-stretch Gore-Tex rain suit for golfers.

This has been achieved through two key design features found in both the UA Gore-Tex Tips Jacket and UA Gore-Tex Tips Pant:

  • The three-layer bonded fabric delivers a durable, smooth outside and a soft, brushed interior, keeping the garment 100 per cent waterproof but incredibly breathable.
  • 10 per cent stretch fabrication applied across the whole suit gives golfers 25 per cent more stretch than other Gore-Tex rainwear for golf.

We spoke to Patti Lin, Director of UA Golf Apparel, about the design

The Under Armour Gore-Tex Tips Pant is designed to fit like a regular trouser and also features a soft waistband for a comfortable fit, hip adjusters, secure side and back pockets and 12 inch leg zips for increased breathability and ease of sliding on over your spikes.

On testing the suit, Under Armour ambassador and two-time major champion, Jordan Spieth, said: “Under Armour are constantly pushing the boundaries in what’s achievable in golf apparel to help make athletes better. The new Gore-Tex range is the most advanced waterproofing technology I’ve ever seen in golf and is sure to give me an edge over the competition.”
