What To Expect At The LIV Golf UK Event

There won't just be world-class golfers on display at JCB Golf & Country Club in July, but two famous music artists - plus a lot more

Following LIV Golf Dallas at the end of June, only five events of the 2025 season will remain, one of which will see 54 international stars tee it up at JCB Golf & Country Club in the Staffordshire countryside.

With top-level golf visiting new venues in all corners of the world each year, there aren’t many opportunities to see the game’s finest players up close, but LIV Golf UK by JCB, which runs from July 25-27, is promising three special days of sport and entertainment.

As well as getting to watch multiple Major champions such as Bryson DeChambeau, Jon Rahm, Phil Mickelson, Dustin Johnson and Brooks Koepka, there will be a lot more going on at the West Midlands venue.

Having attended last year's inaugural event at JCB Golf & Country Club, we can confirm that LIV Golf tournaments are quite a bit different to the traditional affairs that lots of golf fans have been used to.

This, of course, was what was promised when the League launched several years ago - it was going to be 'Golf, But Louder'.

And it is. Fans can expect a feast of golf and plenty more on top.

WORLD-CLASS ENTERTAINMENT

One of the highlights of the 2025 edition of LIV Golf UK sees DJ and producer, Kygo, headline the entertainment.

Real name Kyrre Gorvell-Dahll, the EDM legend heads to Staffordshire having topped bills all over the planet, to perform a set after Saturday's play.

As well as headlining the Olympic closing ceremony in Rio in 2016, he’s starred at Ultra Miami, has his own residency in Ibiza, and was the fastest artist to reach one billion Spotify streams.

Before Kygo's performance, Canadian DJ and summer festival star Frank Walker will bring his unique blend of electric, pop and country to the stage.

Renowned for his standout performances at some of the world's largest festivals including EDC Las Vegas, Ultra Miami, and Ultra Japan, the electronic music artist will get the party started at 6pm.

A PARTY ATMOSPHERE

‘Restarted’ might be a better word, for this event has a festival feel the moment you arrive, even on the range, where loud speakers create an electric atmosphere.

The range is a 'must visit'. This is where we had a fascinating chat with Ian Poulter, Sergio Garcia and Bubba Watson, and a good nose through their golf bags.

Elsewhere, the 14th, otherwise known as the ‘Party Hole’, is where you’ll find the ‘The Digger Inn’, a tongue-in-cheek reference to the iconic Jigger Inn by the 17th fairway at the Old Course (JCB, diggers, keep up).

This golfing amphitheater provides a perfect vantage point to watch players hitting into the par 3, whilst enjoying a drink and a bite to eat.

It’s loud, full of energy and good fun, as is the Majesticks Arms, which has become something of a favourite spot in a short space of time.

For research purposes, we can also confirm that we stopped here for refreshments and some loaded nachos - and very nice it was, too.

FUN FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY

With the late July date, schools are out, too, which is good news for kids - and parents. Children aged 12 and under go free when accompanied by any adult who occupies a ticket for the selected day.

The Fan Village is a popular spot for families, with sports activities activities and interactive entertainment for all ages, which means no "I'm bored" and asking to go home early.

Young ones getting their first taste of the sport can play fun games, too, whilst really young ones can have a play in the JCB sand pit.

FIERCE COMPETITION

Let’s not forget about the golf itself, for although there are plenty of high fives and player-crowd interaction, there is some serious business to take care of on the course.

With its island greens, sprawling fairways and a number of spectacular risk-reward holes, JCB Golf & Country Club promises a stern test for the players, and plenty of thrills for the fans.

This will be another great opportunity to visit a fantastic golf course and watch how the players tackle a layout that could host a Ryder Cup in the future.

Last year, two-time Major champion Rahm took advantage of a late slip from his Legion XIII teammate Tyrrell Hatton to win the event by a single stroke.

The Spaniard, a former US Open and Masters champion, will be hoping he can chase down current individual leader, Joaquin Niemann of Chile, one of the best players on the planet this year.

Meanwhile, Hatton, Poulter, Lee Westwood, Sam Horsfield, Paul Casey and Richard Bland will be hoping they can feed off the home crowd’s support.

DON'T MISS OUT

There are various ways fans can enjoy this year's event, including a number of hospitality packages.

Club 54, the Gallery Club and the Birdie Shack each offer a unique experience and a different vibe, as well as an array of amenities.

As for what to expect from this year's event: top-class golf, noise, plenty of activities, and lots of fun. Bring your dancing shoes...
