Ping G410 Plus Driver

What makes the Ping G410 Plus driver so impressive is that Ping has been able to add in moveable weights for the first time into a driver without sacrificing the forgiveness that made its predecessor, the G400, such an appealing club.

Editor's Choice 2020

The crown of the G410 Plus, with its drag-reducing Turbulators, looks great behind the ball. It’s cleaner from an aesthetic point of view than the G400 as the weight-reducing Dragonfly technology has been moved inside the head. It also appears slightly more compact at address.

The 455cc driver features a forged, heat-treated face that is precision machined to make it faster over a wider area. This definitely has an effect and means the driver is more consistently forgiving on off-centre strikes.

No sacrifice

For a long time, Ping was reluctant to implement a moveable weight into their drivers for fear of sacrificing forgiveness. What’s remarkable about the G410 Plus is that they’ve produced a driver that delivers adjustability with no compromise.

Maximum weight has been pushed to the very rear of the driver to maintain the centre of gravity while allowing for adjustability.

That 16 gram tungsten weight can be relocated at the back of the clubhead to deliver up to 10 yards of draw or fade bias.

Speeding up

In testing, we found the G410 Plus delivered significantly higher clubhead and ball speeds than the G400, resulting in quite a jump in distance. The G410 produced a slightly higher launch and slightly reduced spin rates which also helped add to the total carry numbers.

The G410 Plus is good looking, high performing driver that delivers impressive speed and distance. With the addition of adjustable weights, it’s a club that could help a wide range of players find increased distance and consistency from their tee shots.
