The 120th running of the event comes from Winged Foot Golf Club in Mamaroneck, New York.

The West Course’s length is 7,264 yards with only two par 5’s on the scorecard.

Winged Foot last hosted the event in 2006 where Australian Geoff Ogilvy won his only major championship.

Phil Mickelson’s only piece of missing silverware is the US Open Trophy. ‘Lefty’ has came close many times, finishing 2nd in 1999, 2002, 2004, 2006, 2009, & 2013.

After his Open Championship win in 2013 at Muirfield, Mickelson has been chasing the Career Grand Slam but not been successful.

Gary Woodland is the defending Champion, the 35-year-old fought off World Number One Brooks Koepka to win by three shots at Pebble Beach.

Tiger Woods is looking for his 16th Major title but is not among the favourites to win.

Dustin Johnson is the World Number One and has recently won the FedExCup – so will be the man to beat! Justin Thomas, Jon Rahm and Rory McIlroy are also well fancied.

Some fantastic crowds would have been expected in New York, fans from the City really enjoy their golf, especially Majors, but due to Covid-19 regulations there will not be any fans at the event.
