The 153rd Open was an historic one as World No.1 Scottie Scheffler dominated proceedings to win his fourth Major, his first Claret Jug and the third leg of the career grand slam.
Scheffler was a very worthy champion in front of packed fans in Northern Ireland, the majority of whom were there to support home hero Rory McIlroy - who recorded an impressive T7th finish after his difficult 2019 Open at the same venue.
Harris English finished four back of Scheffler to record his second runner-up finish in a Major this year as Scottish Open winner Chris Gotterup completed a remarkable fortnight with a third-place finish.
Royal Portrush hosted its third Open after 1951 and 2019, and made for another great test of links golf in the usual varied conditions.
The Open 2025 leaderboard:
- -17 Scottie Scheffler
- -13 Harris English
