Tiger Woods had an uncharacteristic finish to his week at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, struggling to a 76 in the final round. Woods equalled his highest score in a regular PGA event after an un-expected 43 on the back nine at Bay Hill.
Tiger?s bad day began on the par-4 11th with a three putt, double bogey but the real drama came on the last three holes. After bogeying the par-4 16th Woods found water from the tee on the par-3 17 and scrambled to make a double bogey. On the final hole, after chipping out of the rough, Woods hit his third into the water and eventually struggled to a triple bogey.
This staggering finish saw Tiger tied for 22nd - subsequently ending his record of 13 consecutive top-ten finishes worldwide in PGA tour events. Woods left the course swiftly and was unavailable for comment after the round.
Vijay Singh capitalised on Tiger?s demise to cruise to his 31st PGA tour event win after an impressive front-nine 31 in his final round.
He said: ?I love this place. I hate the 18th hole, but I love the rest of it. It feels great. Having won Jack's tournament (Memorial) and now Arnie's, it's a great one to get."
