Edberg lands a big catch on the shores of Loch Lomond
Sweden’s Pelle Edberg will be able to travel to events on the European Tour in style after winning a BMW X6 worth £44,950 for a hole-in-one during the first round of the 2008 Barclays Scottish Open at Loch Lomond
Pelle Edberg s windfall came as a result of the 5-iron he hit into the hole for an ace on Loch Lomond s 215-yard par three 17th hole.
It was the first time the 29 year-old from Jönköping has achieved a hole-in-one on the European Tour and reinforces his love for Loch Lomond where he picked up the biggest cheque of his European Tour career to date for finishing tied fourth in last year s Barclays Scottish Open. It was also the 20th ace on this season s European Tour.
The new X6 is BMW s latest Sports Activity Coupé and was launched in May at the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth Club. Auto Express magazine recently described it as BMW s most radical model for a decade for the way it combines the racy looks of a coupe with the luxury and ruggedness of a SUV.
