Volvo Tour raises over £13,000 for Children in Need
The Volvo Masters Amateur Tour, in conjunction with the Oxfordshire Golf Club, raised over £15,000 for Children In Need at a charity golf day held on November 16, 2009

The Volvo Masters Amateur Tour, in conjunction with the Oxfordshire Golf Club, raised over £13,000 for Children In Need at a charity golf day held on November 16, 2009.
Over 60 pairs entered the event and with the Oxfordshire kindly donating the golf course free of charge, the Tour was able to maximise the funds raised.
An auction was held following the golf, with a number of fourballs donated by a selection of prestigious golf clubs and individual members of the Volvo Tour. Volvo Car UK donated a day with a Team Volvo for life sailor for a once in a lifetime opportunity of personal coaching from an Olympic medallist, plus a fourball at Wentworth. All of the donations raised a considerable amount of money for the charity.
The event was supported by Europe's leading online golf retailer onlinegolf.co.uk which supplied prizes in the form of vouchers and a number of auction items. Rod Brown, managing director of Online Golf also sponsored a par-3 Charity Challenge which raised over £1,200 on the day.
Lesley Milne, sponsorship and events manager for Volvo Car UK, said: "We were delighted that 120 golfers made the effort to support the day and raise such a generous amount of money for Children In Need. Our thanks go to all those who contributed to the success of the event and we hope to be back at the Oxfordshire in 2010 to raise more funds for this worthy cause."
