Double victory for FootJoy
FootJoy, the number one shoe and glove in golf, had a double triumph over the bank holiday weekend as Paul Lawrie and Nick Watney reigned supreme
FootJoy, the number one shoe and glove in golf, recorded another successful weekend as Paul Lawrie and Nick Watney stormed to victory on both sides of the Atlantic.
On the European Tour, Paul Lawrie won the Johnnie Waker Championship - his third victory on home soil - to give another boost to Jose Maria Olazabal and the European Ryder Cup team.
On the PGA Tour, Nick Watney won The Barclays at Bethpage Black - the first event of the Fed-Ex Cup play-offs - to move into number one position in the Fed-Ex Cup standings.
Scotsman Lawrie completed a four-stroke victory over fellow FootJoy ambassador Brett Rumford in his FJ ICON shoes and FJ StaSot glove to move to seventh in the Race to Dubai and 30th in the Official World Golf Ranking, his highest ever position.
Las Vegas born Watney won $1.44m, his biggest career pay cheque, with the athletic performance of the FJ SPORT providing the stability to facilitate the American's incredible putting display.
"I am delighted for Paul and Nick, who both recorded impressive victories this weekend. Paul is having a superb year and is certainly back to his best, while Nick is back showing his real potential," said Russell Lawes, FootJoy's European Marketing Manager.
"With the Ryder Cup on the horizon, it is encouraging to see so many FJ brand ambassadors on both Team Europe and Team USA going to head to head on a global scale."
